An Afternoon in the Peak District

One of the main attractions of Sheffield is how close it is to the Peak District and with this being my last year in Sheffield I really wanted to get out into the Peaks as much as I could. So last weekend I went out to Stanage Edge with a friend. We caught the 272 bus from Endcliffe Park to Hathersage where we followed this route to reach Stanage Edge. We arrived around lunchtime so had our picnic ready to enjoy when we reached the top. After some exploring we cracked open a beer as with pubs shut we couldn’t have the satisfying after walk pint normally offered by cosy country pubs, but it felt really good to have a little treat and look out over the beautiful view. After that we rambled back down walking amongst sheep and very cute dogs. Overall, it was a great afternoon and a little relief from Covid addeled life so if you’re in Sheffield, definitely take this opportunity to explore the Peaks.
